Feb.6.2007 Feb.6.2007 First Allard DealershipFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Allard J2X MkII Makes its US Debut February 6, 2007-Montreal- Motor Trend Magazine’s Baltimore Auto Show (Feb. 8-11) will be the site of Allard Motor Works’ first public launch in America of their new Allard J2X MkII roadster. The exclusive Allard J2X MkII will be on display at the Prestige Imports’ automobile booth (L2). Allard Motor Work’s President, Roger Allard, will be present for the duration of the show. “We’re pleased to make our first major public launch in Baltimore, as this is an area that is very familiar with the legendary Allard J2X. This region has a long tradition of sports car competition and people in the area remember the Allards, both on and off the track,” comments Roger Allard. The J2X MkII is a re-creation of the original Allard that stirred the passions of competition car buffs in the 1950s. At the Motor Trend Auto Show, Allard Motor Works will display its 400 hp J2X MkII demonstrator- the same car that thrilled spectators at Watkins Glen, Lime Rock, and more recently, at the area’s Summit Point Motorsports facility. Allard Motor Works is teaming up with Prestige Imports, of Randallstown, MD, to add spice to the Baltimore event. “Not only is it a thrill to host the Allard J2X MkII in our display, but it enhances our long-standing reputation of providing the Baltimore Motor Trend Auto Show with vehicles you don’t see every day, like the T-Rex, the Smart and a range of exotics such as the Ferraris and Lamborginis.” The Allard J2X MkII is a hand-crafted limited production open-cockpit roadster. Its body design is identical to the original J2X, however, structurally and mechanically, the MkII is worlds apart. Adds Roger Allard, “We have re-engineered the car to meet today’s expectations for reliability, safety, comfort and performance. We have integrated the latest performance components and assembly techniques to provide a very enjoyable, predictable and safe ride. While maintaining the J2X’s reputation for performance, we made it an all-round pleasure to drive.” The Allard J2X MkII continues the tradition of powering the car with American performance V8s. The standard MkII is delivered with a 400 hp GM RamJet fuel-injected V8, while options include two basic versions of the Chrysler Hemi- the 5.7 liter and the 600 hp 6.1 liter Hemi. The Cadillac Northstar rounds out the choice of options. “Other than for historical reasons, our choice of engines reflects the current environmental milieu we live in. We source all of our engines from the major North American producers- these are compliant with all state environmental regulations. There is little difference between what is powering the new car driving alongside a J2X MkII and ours. We only add a little spice to the mix.” To provide MkII owners with a certain measure of exclusivity, all Allard Motor Works’ vehicles are awarded special serial numbers from the Allard Registry, where they are listed alongside the originals for posterity. Also, the Company will always limit its annual output to 100 MkIIs per year, irrespective of demand. Adds Roger Allard, “We want our J2X MkII to be exclusive and rare. With sole worldwide rights to the design and the signature, owners are assured that they won’t see the MkIIs at every street corner, since this small volume will be spread thinly around the globe. In addition to the exclusivity, the owner is also assured of increasing values for the new wheels. Allard Motor Works Inc. was founded by Roger Allard in 1999. Its research, engineering and prototyping were done in Montreal, Canada. Its assembly operation is located in Champlain, NY. The company’s first units will be delivered in early Summer 2007. The first J2X MkIIs will find new owners in the USA, Canada and Australia. The retail price for the standard Allard J2X MkII is USD $110,000. Purchases can be made directly at Allard Motor Works, or shortly through a few select dealers in the USA, Europe and Australia.
